With the called Cradle app, eye diseases and eye disorders can be diagnosed before it’s progress. Although experts have developed the application for children’s eye health, adults also can use this application for their own eye health checks.
Compatible with Android and IOS devices, the mobile app diagnoses using white light. A red circle appears in our eyes in photos we take with the flash on. The red circle comes out because your eyes are healthy, according to experts. If your eyes are not healthy, white reflections appear. In practice, machine learning technology is used to diagnose the ‘Leukocoria’ disease early. By the way, for those who don’t know: Leukocoria; called the white reflections that form in the retina of the eye.
The application was tested and interesting results emerged. Approximately 53,000 photos were used in the test on 40 children. Thanks to the application, 16 out of 20 children with eye disorders detected the condition 1 year before the doctor’s diagnosis.
Experts especially share that the application should be used for early diagnosis. This is not a definitive diagnosis and it is important to consult a doctor. At this point, let’s share the following detail with you; the application has not yet been approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
